Salvation Fellowship Praise & Worship Team

There is always something unifying when brethren come together in Christ for the Holy Spirit descends and dwells in their midst. When people come together and agree to do anything, nothing is going to stop them. These are the words of God Himself after the people had decided to make a name for themselves by building a tower that would reach the heavenly realms.....the tower of Babel that is. The unity was there, the understanding of the purpose was there but the motive......well ....highly misplaced. God then confused their languages and they could not understand one another and the unity of purpose died.

This then begs the question.......does God want us divided? Well NO. The people at Babel were united for the wrong purpose. For in God when people come together in His Name, he makes a dwelling amongst them. There is one thing that has stood the test of time in uniting people and breaking down barriers. You might be thinking sport, football etc. Well I am talking about the power of sound - music to be exact. Music breaks the barrier of language. Soothing soft music from the darkest most remote corner of the world can soothe and relax a tormented soul in the bright light city in the most developed nation/country. In the Kingdom of God music forms the core of praise and worship. God’s Word encourages the use of song, dance and instrument in praising God.  It does not matter what language one uses.........God’s name will be praised. It does not matter what language is used in songs to worship............God will be worshiped. The Word of God encourages us to make melodies in our hearts.

At Salvation Fellowship the worship team plays an important role in all our church meetings. As they lead the church into praise and worship, you find yourself forgetting all else and feel your spirit engaging with God. Many are the trials we face in our lives and sometimes we come to church with heavy burdens and you feel so far away from your Saviour for that is the plan of the devil.......to deceive you and make you focus on your immediate worries. As soon as the praise team starts to usher the church into the presence of God, all worries start to disappear and by the time the Word comes, the spiritual ears are ready to receive.

What has been your experience with the Praise and worship team at your congregation? What role does it play in your church service? What does the Word of God say about praise and worship through song. Share your experience and thoughts with us click here.
